google posting adverts on my youtube videos?
ive recently found that google are putting adverts on my youtube videos and also on my channel
the adverts have no relevance to my videos with stuff like mobile xray apps and a free google adwords £30.00 voucher
My videos are xbox 360 walkthroughs for games and people have said that the adverts are due to someone claiming copyright to some of the material in my videos and therefore putting adverts on to gain profits but the adverts have nothing to do with my videos?
can anyone tell me why these adverts are here and if i can benefit from them in any way
Someone was right: you’ve put copyrighted content (most likely excerpts from the games) into your videos without permission, and the copyright holder has elected to ask YouTube to put advertisements on your videos. The revenue from the advertisements goes to the copyright holder as compensation for your infringement.
If you don’t want the advertisements, don’t use copyrighted content without a license. You can also claim fair use to YouTube, which may get the restriction lifted if your use of the content is educational, or for reviews, etc., but usually it’s the person with the most money who wins in copyright disputes.
