Can I Buy a G1 at the t-mobile store without activation?

I would like to purchase the G1 and give it to two people, that have t-mobile as a carrier for gifts am I able to do this?

Yes, you can buy a phone without the activation price. You will have to pay the retail price though. 399.99 each. I have seen some G1 on ebay but they are still pretty expensive.

The G1 is a pretty nifty phone so whoever receives these phones sure are lucky to know such a nice person like you (jealous..had to pay for my own).
