
Installing Windows Live Essentials 2011
Objective
This article aims to demonstrate how to install Windows Live Essentials 2011 on Windows 7quickly and easily.
System Requirements for Windows Live Essentials 2011
Windows Live Essentials 2011 requires the following:
- Operating System: Issues 32 and 64-bit Windows Vista with Service Pack 2Platform with the update for Windows Vista, or Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 and Platform Update for Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2.
- Processor: 1.6 GHz or higher.
- Memory: 1 GB of RAM or higher.
- Resolution: Minimum 1024 x 576.
- Internet Connection: resources using the Internet requires Internet access dial-up or broadband (provided separately), which may be subject to local rates or long distance.
- Graphics or video: Windows Live Movie Maker requires a video card that supports DirectX 9 or higher and ShaderModel 2 or higher.
Installing Windows Live Essentials 2011
1 – Access the URL below to download the Windows Live Essentials 2011:
http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials
2 – Click the Download Now.
3 – After finished downloading double click the installation file wlsetup-web.exe. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.1.

4 – Click on Yes to continue. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.2.

5 – Choose one of the options for installing Windows Live Essetials 2011. In our example we choose the option Install Windows Live Essentials (recommended). If you want to choose only a few select programs Choose which programs you install. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.3.

6 – Wait until installation is complete. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.4.

7 – Click the Close button. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.5.
8 – If you already have a Windows Live ID account enter your email address and password or if you have not click the Subscribe link to create one. In our example we’ll enter my Windows Live account ID. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.6.

9 – Choose what services you want to connect Windows Live. In our example we will click theIgnore button and we will not connect to any service. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1. 7.

10 – Enter the number of your phone if you want Recer a text message with a link to the Windows Live Mobile services. This type of service is often subject to charges by your mobile operator. In our example we will click the Ignore button and we will not add any numbers. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.8.

11 – Choose between Social Network Highlights or MSN. In our example we choose Highlights of Social Networks. This displays the dialog box as shown in Figure 1.9.
