Windows Vista Ultimate driver issues?

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Trying to install a Canon Mp620 printer. I get the above error message. I’ve ran & installed all updates for my computer. I also can’t install the newest version of Windows Mobile Device Center. It freezes up when it gets to the driver installation. Anyone got any ideas?
It was a fresh install of Vista. New hard drives new operating system.
I’ve already downloaded new drivers from canon and get the same error.
32 bit version

Did you upgrade to Vista Ultimate from a previous version of Windows, or was it a fresh install? A lot of these types of printer driver problems are caused by old, non Vista compatible versions of drivers that had previously been installed on the computer.
EDIT: Also, are you using a 64 bit version of Vista?
